Hi! I’m Mathew Basso, a 14-year-old go-kart racer from the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. I’ve
been passionate about racing ever since my parents gave me an electric go-kart when I was just 4.
Now, I compete at the highest level in the sport and love the thrill of close racing
Together with my Karting achievements this year, I’m really happy to have recently been awarded an Academic Scholarship through to my VCE year.

Australian Kart Championship
The SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol EDGE is the premier karting Championship in the Southern Hemisphere.

Throughout 2019, the Championship averaged 276 entries across the eight Classes.
In addition to attracting thousands of spectators to witness the action track side throughout the year, each round of the Championship is streamed live across the internet with views of the broadcast regularly exceeding 40,000 per event.
