Another Podium for the Rookie

Another Podium for the Rookie

Queensland Raceway Weekend Wrap

We had a great start to the weekend, with me qualifying P6 and bringing the car home P6 after 20 minutes of hard racing in Race 1, giving us a solid starting point.

The team worked together on a few changes overnight, and the car came alive for Saturday’s Race 2. I was able to attack from the start and secure a podium finish, which moved me into second place for the round.

Heading into Sunday, we were in a strong position and feeling confident.

Race 3 was a ripper. I moved into P2 and was chasing down the leader when a late safety car set up a one-lap dash to the chequered flag. I was boxed out through Turns 4 and 5 and crossed the line in P4.

For Race 4, I started from P9 following a post-race penalty. I made a strong start and worked my way up to P6 before another safety car brought on a second last-lap sprint.

After a strong restart, a brake lock-up caught me out, stalling the engine and ending our race with a DNF. It was a tough way to finish the weekend after showing such strong pace in the earlier races.

We’ll recalibrate, regroup and get locked in for the next round at The Bend in South Australia, from 11–13 September.

A huge thank you to everyone at Corish Motorsports for always giving 100%.

Special shout-out to Jimmy Mc for stepping in and helping me move forward all weekend. McLaren Academy couldn’t have done it without you!

And finally, thank you to all my partners for making my racing possible. Your support means everything.
